Experience Japanese Traditional Culture
While you are visiting Japan, why not try your hand at Japanese traditional ikebana flower arrangement, making tea, or calligraphy, in an informal and enjoyable setting?
Japanese Flower Arrangement
Ikebana honours the life force of seasonal beautiful flowers to re-create in a vase the essence of Nature. You will create an authentic ikebana arrangement using a kenzan pinholder.
Tea
Matcha is becoming more popular all over the world, not least because of its health benefits. In a full formal tea ceremony, the host serves a meal and tea to the guests. It can take over 4 hours, and it takes years to learn how to do this.
In this tea experience for beginner rs, I will make matcha for you as you enjoy a wagashi tea sweet. After this, I will teach you a simple way to make matcha for yourself. It is not difficult, and you can enjoy drinking the matcha you made.
Calligraphy
I will guide you through creating your own calligraphy work of art, using Chinese characters and katakana.
Calligraphy was introduced into Japan in the late 4th century from China. Hiragana characters were created in Japan from Chinese characters in order to write Japanese. Words of foreign origin are written using katakana, which are also derived from Chinese characters.

和(WA)was the name of the country of Japan in ancient times. It also means living in harmony with Nature and with other people.
Over the long course of Japanese history many different forms of Japanese traditional culture have been developed and continue to this day.
I started WAZAEMON as a place to experience the popular arts of ikebana, tea and calligraphy. Let’s create a memorable experience while you travel in Japan.
